I HATE muggy weather... and, where I come from {a smallish town in SouthWestern, Ontario}, it.gets.hot. It seems as though the seasons have changed... and the Fall weather is {finally} upon us!
This also means the house needs a little 'seasonal decoration' to mark this wonderful time of the year!
Mantle - I decided to go with Owls - mainly because I bid and won an adorable, little owl in a recent auction. Also, they remind me of my Gram, who was a Tawny Owl in the {Canadian} Girl Guides.
{My Gram's 'Tawny Owl} ... and some twigs 'stolen' from my neighbour's yard
My 'auction' owl, a painted, vintage Crown Mason Jar and owls by John James Audubon
I made the bunting from brown, gold and burlap material I had around the house... a quick project {just cut strips of material and layer them... fold over and tie ... thread string through loop and hang.
The leaves {on the stolen sticks and bunting} are cut from Pop Cans, using Tim Holtz die - Tattered Leaves. I found a GREAT tutorial on this, using alcohol inks at... Saved By Love Creations ... the only thing I did differently as to add the veins in my leaves by 'bending and folding' them into shape.

... and, also, the front door received a new wreath...
... complete with a second, adorable, auction owl!
Hoping that your fall decorating is going well!
