Happy New Year!!!

The Countdowns On...
{inside}
This card has been made from the fabulous sketch at Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and the colours based on the challenge {#52} at Do You Stack Up {DYSU}!  I decided to go with a New Years theme 'cause, well, 'tis the season!  The patterned paper is My Mind's Eye's 12 Days of Christmas, such a fun, retro-looking line, the cardstock is Bazzill and the ink is Tim Holtz...of course.  My only wish is that the line of numbers was 'counting down'...but, oh well, I wanted to use up some stash!

Don't forget to enter my GIVEAWAY for your chance to win some fantastic product from My Mind's Eye, Tim Holtz and more!!
Best wishes to all for a SAFE and Happy New Year's Eve...and beyond!

Christmas Is {Quickly} Coming

Just a few more days...and it will all be over with.  No, I LOVE this time of year, people just seem more friendly...and so do I.  I have finally started to warm up to card-making and have just completed a couple of Christmas cards. {I may even attempt to make all of my cards next year - I had better get started!}
Christmas Easel Card
{Jasmine Labombard}
The front flap {the green cardstock} flips open, like a normal card, so you can add a sentiment inside...which, as you can see, I have yet to do!
{closed}
I have really been enjoying my new Tim Holtz Stampers Anonymous stamps.  I think that they are the main reason I am 'warming up to card-making'...you do NOT need to colour these stamps - which, to a person who lacks patience, is a bonus! {this has always been my New Year's Resolution...to try to have more patience...} Anyway, I have added a number of Tim Holtz stamp sets to my 'Wish Lists', fingers crossed!
{detail shot}
The little bow is a strip of silk, the flower is paper and the bell, well, I found it in the garage.

'He Knows'
{Jasmine Labombard}
Again, same basic design, just a regular style!
The rusted snowflake, I purchased on Etsy and the green crystal was a bargain buy at my LSS, The Paper Pickle!

Have a fantastic day!

Christmas Greetings!

A Christmas Post Card Journal
{cover}
First, let me apologize...this is going to be a whopper of a blog post.  This all started by shopping on Etsy, I am a collector of things, and thus am addicted to Etsy.  Anyway, wanting to create a Christmas Journal, I purchased these wonderful Christmas Post Cards from CaityAshBadashery and decided to use them as the main pages.
{Original Post Cards}

{Page 1}
backside of cover
The beautiful St.Nicholas is from Tim Holtz's 'Letter to Santa' Stampers Anonymous pack, he has been attached to a pocket {made from My Mind's Eye paper}, which holds some tags and envelopes.
{Tags&Envelopes}
The Santa Envelope {My Mind's Eye Paper} opens to reveal three more tags}
{Page Two}
I found the brooch at Value Village for $1, the tag is My Mind's Eye and the sticker {which has been 'crackled'} is from Bo Bunny's Father Christmas line and the paper is Echo Park {2010}.  Inside this envelope is a letter I received from ToyMaker Elf, when I was a kid...it was 1988, so I would have been 7.
{back of envelope and Page Three}
{back of 'Merry Xmas' Post Card}
-closed-
-open, with tags-
I 'image transfered' the 'little elf girl' {free download} to a piece of cardstock and 'fancy' cut.  The holly leaves and snowflakes have been cut out using the {original} sizzix.  All of the paper is My Mind's Eye - Lost&Found Christmas.
{Page Four}
-open-
A place to write memories, keep track of winning Christmas Recipes or jot down some thoughts.
-back-
{even more} tags
{Page Five}
The last one! Notice the date 1908!
-back-
The tag is My Mind's Eye, the {beautiful} paper is Making Memories and the tassel is from an ornament.
-open-
More tags, more My Mind's Eye...and more memories!

The pages are being held together with some binder rings {Staples}, which have been made a {little} prettier with some ribbons and ornaments! {I may try to find something a little more vintage on Etsy!}  This was a fun project, I can't wait to fill it up with Wonderful Memories of a Beautiful Season!

Thanks for taking the time!

Mondays, um, Tuesdays Are For Mom?

'Christmas Joy'
{by Nancy Parker}
This card has been created for the Christmas Colours challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles.  The sweet image & sentiment are free digital images that have been coloured with Copics.  The main image, leaves & flowers were cut using Nesties and I added a bit of ribbon, a couple of brads, a few gems, & some hand doodling to finish it off.

Great Days,
Jasmine

Tagged!

Well I recieved an exciting phone call from my {fantastic} LSS, The Paper Pickle, telling me that my Tim Holtz 'Letter From Santa' Stamps were in...woo hoo! So, I have been busy creating Christmas Tags using the stunning stamps.
'Christmastime is Here'
This tag consists of three tags in one, a large and two small tags tucked behind St.Nick's hat.  Santa has been stamped using Tim Holtz distress inks {aged mahogany}.
The small, paper flower is Prima, the tips have been inked {aged mahogany, walnut stain}, I added some random typewriter parts and a strip of silk from the fabric store.
'Right Down Santa Claus Lane'
Out of the two tags this is my favourite...so far.  Again, there are two small tags tucked in behind Santa's hat.  I have added some nuts&bolts from my beloved typewriter for some detail.
{Tags - close up}
Stamped with Tim Holtz-Ultimate Grunge Stamps {walnut stain}
I have coated the 'Right Down Santa Claus Lane' with Ranger's Distress Crackle Paint {clear Rock Candy}.  I have tried a few different crackle paints and have found that this one is best at giving me the look I am trying to achieve.
Another strip of silk and some more typewriter gears to finish it off.
Thanks for taking the time!
Great days,
Jasmine

Tricks of the Trade

As scrappers we are always looking for new tricks, tips and techniques, so when I came across this gem I couldn't wait to pass it along!  First, thanks to Ally at WeScrap who came up with this fantastic idea, it has saved me a great deal of time... Now, onto the tip!
Those of us who have stacks of {Tim Holtz} Distress Inks know how frustrating it can be to sort through the pile to find the right colour, well, Ally has the solution!  All it takes are some address labels, a stamp...and your distress inks...and the problems are forever solved!  I can not possibly do a better job explaining it than Ally {all the steps, including some wonderful pictures}, so I will just send you to check it out HERE!
Happy Labeling!

Twelve Days of Christmas

'Silver Bells'
Christmas Advent Calendar {12 Days}
I know we're not quite at the 12 Day mark, but it will be here {and gone} before we know it!  This Advent Calendar counts down the days until Christmas using tiny {adorable}, Silver Bells.  The bells are stored in a small, black velvet sack {hung on the back of the box} until they are needed.  You mark the day's end by hanging a bell on the brass hook, located over each individual box.
All of the paper, brads and tags are My Mind's Eye - Lost&Found Christmas Collection.
The pewter ornaments {Santa in Chimney, Reindeer & Santa and tree} are Avon Ornaments that my Grandmother has been giving me for as long as I can remember.  The glass ornaments are from my {larger than I realized} collection.
{...and more}
I find these calendars fun, it uses up some of those 'don't throw those out, you never know when you'll need them' items.

{Product Used:}
Tim Holtz - Distress Ink
My Mind's Eye - Lost&Found Christmas {paper, brads, tags}
Tim Holtz - On the Edge Sizzix Die {snowflakes}
Original Sizzix Die - Holly Leaves
Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps & Die - Cardinal
Scrabble Letters - {Merry Christmas}
American Crafts - Thickers Jewelry Box & Nutmeg - Numbers
**Also** Bingo Chips, Vintage Jewelry, Pinecone, Ornaments, Brass Knob, Garland, Mistletoe, Bells, Hooks, misc. items

Safe & Happy Holidays!

The Most Adorable, {Little} Snowmen

Snowmen Chocolate Bar Covers
{by Nancy Parker - my very talented Ma}
 Now these are just the most adorable, {little} things... it is just a template, which Ma knows was a freebie, but from where, well, she just can't remember.  The scarves and hats are some material that was purchased at fabricland {the hats are just tied with some embroidery thread}.
Inside each one lies a special treat, a wonderful chocolate bar {a large size}.
Now she did say that there were templates for other treats {tootsie roll banks and smaller chocolate bars}, but just where you find them is a mystery!

Happy Holidays!

Jasmine
***UPDATE*** As you will see in the comments below, my Ma has remembered where she found the adorable snowman template! Check out Laurie Furnell's Blog for some fantastic ideas!!

{Retro} Christmas Tags & Gift Card Holders

First off let me apologize...I am working on a 'borrowed' computer, mine had to take a trip to the {computer} Doctors at Future Shop {crying}...I miss it very much.  So, I am apologizing for not being able to 'link' to or name some of the websites that I mention because they are all on my poor baby.

'A Very Retro Christmas'
Recently I came across the blog, Kewl Beans, where she demonstrated how to do image transfers. Not being one to stamp and colour, I decided that this may be right up my alley, so I decided to give it a try.  I found these wonderful, retro images on-line {freebies} and thought that they matched up wonderfully with the 12 Days of Christmas paper by My Mind's Eye!
'Hi Fella' Tag
My tag shape comes from Staples manila tags...you know, the ones you can buy 500 for $1.  I traced it on MMEs paper, cut it out and mounted the rest.  A couple of 'Jingle Bells' from a wreath I purchased at WalMart.
'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' Tag
'Retro Girl' Tag
The gift card envelopes started with a trip to the vet.  Sassie needed some pills and they came in a teenie, tiny envelope.  I pulled it all apart, traced it out on some MME paper, added an image transfer and a brad...and voila! a gift card holder. {they hold your typical, credit card size gift card}

'Hi Fella' & 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' Gift Card Holders
The Backside

The Template
{I hope, if you want this, it comes out the right size}
{Directions}
Fold paper along all dotted lines.
Tape flaps B and C together.
Tape flap D onto flaps B and C.
Fold flap A down, but DO NOT tape shut...this is the opening.
The 'circle' is where I punched my hole for the brad

I highly suggest trying the image transfer, I LOVED it and will definitely be doing more of it in days to come.  My images, although I am not exactly sure of the site I found them on, were googled using the words FREE CHRISTMAS CARD IMAGES...best of luck, and if they were your images Thank You! and please leave a comment letting me know.

I will be entering the envelopes in the weekly challenge over at Sugar Creek Hollow!
Happy December!
Jasmine

ALSO, I have just had a {little} project published in Enchanting Creations magazine! I hope you'll stop in an check it out! {page 88-89}
