A {Little} Topsy Turvy...

Last weekend we had a Birthday Celebration for my cousin, Sam! Sam turned 13 at the end of February, but due to her living a couple of hours away we were unable to celebrate together in any sort of way.  {Mainly I feel bad for Sam because we ALWAYS have a Birthday Party for her younger sister, Cait, due to her birthday always falling by Easter weekend...}
'Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake Card'
I LOVE using up my every growing scraps of paper...so this was a fun card to make. First I separately drew the three layers of the cake until they came together making a 'topsy turvy' shape that I decided I liked. I placed the three layers down {in the shape of the completed cake} on a sheet of chipboard and traced around them...then I cut it out. I now had the pattern for the card 'backer' and each individual layer.  For the 'backer' {not visible} I used MME's Kraft Paper, each layer is a piece of scrap paper.  I added some Tim Holtz/Sizzix scallops, some small dots from an embossing folder and a few other embellishments.  It was a quick and easy card to make...and Sam loved it!

So, don't throw away those scraps! Use them...OR send them to me! {haha}
Great Days,

ps- Let me apologize for the lack of posting...I have been under the weather ever since the weekend. I haven't had the energy to turn my computer on, BUT things are getting better and I seem to be on the mend!
