Banners*Birthdays*And Butterflies!

We celebrated my Grandmother's 80th Birthday this past weekend...for the second time. I had already given her a CARD at the party we had a couple weeks ago, but somehow that one {party} didn't count, so we ended up having another one...oh well, haha, she definitely is worth two parties! Anyway, onto the second birthday card.  I was playing around with my KREAXION'S PUNCHES and ended up making a banner using their 4in1 punches and AMAZING CIRCLE CUTTER!

Oh, and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my WONDERFUL GRAM!
Happy Wednesday!

These Things Take Time

***PHOTOS HAVE BEEN REMOVED...OUT FOR PUBLICATION***
This month I joined in the Progressive Challenge over at Scrapbook Challenges. Each week a new set of steps were posted in the forum and we had until the following week to add them to our progressing layouts!
WEEK ONE STEPS:
Choose your photo - don't add it yet.
Choose a soft or faded patterned paper.
Distress or rip one corner
Place a plain paper beneath.
 WEEK TWO STEPS:
Add 1-3 paper strips, 1 piece of lace and stitching {faux or real}
Remember you can dress your papers and embellies up with mists, inks and paint!
{I used burlap trim place of lace and had to add an 'extra layer' of paper, due to an unexpected FIGHT with the SEWING MACHINE...grrr!}
WEEK THREE STEPS:
Crop your photo into a circle or oval and frame it.
Place embellishments behind the photo.
{My photo is only 3x4, so I couldn't crop it anymore...}
WEEK FOUR STEPS {FINAL PRODUCT}:
Add ribbons and a bow and something that flies.
Add shadows as needed. {for digital}
I improvised, a bit, on this step... did a quick makeover on my sun, added some seagulls and twine, in place of lace.  I added the TITLE, because, well, I just LOVE titles! {These are actually random, leftover chipboard letters that have been painted with TREMCLAD PAINT, sprinkled with gold glitter and then sanded down} This challenge was a TON of fun, I was always looking forward to the next steps...wondering and guessing what they would be! Stop by the FORUM to check out the other girl's layouts...and join in the fun next month!

GREAT DAYS and HAPPY SCRAPPING!

Summer Fun!

My summer, like most others, is FILLED with parties and get-togethers...this year, at a party my sister and I were hosting, we decided to put out some dress-up props and a camera and see what we got...
{Here For}A Good Time
{page two}
We were SHOCKED! at what a good time people had with a few Dollarstore items {and some CRICUT made signs}, it kept the children busy and the adults laughing...Since this initial party, I think the props have been requested at about 10 parties...well worth the investment!

Great Days!

Wonderful Wednesday!

It is WEDNESDAY, and that means, it's my day to post over at Just Imagine Crafts/Kreaxion's Punches! I have posted this card {see below} that I made for my Gram's 80th Birthday!
Now, this card was made following this FANTASTIC TUTORIAL, posted by a past Kreaxion's DT Memeber! At first, it looked a little daunting but, turned out to be SUPER EASY. I simply used the Kreaxion's Circle Cutter, Positioning Parts, Plastic Stencils and Punch 910, followed the step by step directions and {about 5 minutes later}, a beautiful card!
{punch detail close-up}
The solid brown is most likely Core'dinations, but I am uncertain because I pulled it out of my scrap box.  The patterned paper is Crate Paper {Restoration Collection},the Pearls dollarstore specials and the bow is a piece of cut silk from the fabric store.
{one more}
Hope you'll pop over to the JUST IMAGINE CRAFTS BLOG,  visit the TUTORIAL and GET CREATING!

Building Castles In The Sand

I live smack dab between two lakes...Lake Erie and Lake St.Clair, so the feeling of sand between my toes is a rather frequent feeling...and a feeling I LOVE!

So Be Good For Goodness Sake!

He Knows
I know what you're thinking...CHRISTMAS ALREADY! {that's what I'm thinking...} But, my brother-in-law decided to inform us of the number of SHOPPING DAYS LEFT until the big day, so, now that is all I can think about...blame him.
Using Kreaxions Punch 312 I punched out all of the border details. I took some of the {tiny} punched snowflakes and attached them above the points on the top {cream coloured} border.
The papers are leftovers from last Christmas {My Mind's Eye, Core'dinations}, and the Santa Claus stamp is by Tim Holtz {a favourite of mine} that has been stamped using Walnut Stain Distress Ink.  The Green Bow is pulled 'rosette ribbon' - you know that ribbon that has rolled 'roses' on it, that we all bought yards and yards of {...or was that just me?}.  All you do is cut a length, hold both ends and pull...then tie it into a bow {if desired}.
Check out more details at the Just Imagine Crafts/Kreaxions Blog!
