{A Couple More} Halloween Cards

Halloween
by Alanna
This card was crafted by my wonderful niece, Alanna.  She quickly put it together using My Mind's Eye- Haunted Collection papers {and tags}.  I taught her how to distress her edges using my Memory Makers' tool and then inking with Tim Holtz Distress Inks {Walnut Stain}.

I just quickly threw this card together while Alanna was busy doing her's...a {little} something to pass the time.  I, also, used My Mind's Eye-Haunted Collection {paper&tags}, as well as, Tim Holtz Distress Inks, Wild Honey & Walnut Stain!

Great job, Lans!
Thanks everyone for stopping by!
Hope your weekend is well,
Jasmine

A {Little} Halloween Mini

'Halloween 2010'
{Cover}
Last year we {my niece and I} decided to host a Halloween Dinner Party.
Everything went perfectly...the costumes, decorations, food...and timing. {five courses in approximately two hours!} The only thing that could have gone better was the photographer, my step-dad...who has since been relieved of his photo-taking position! Anyway, I decided to take the workable pictures and turn it into {little} mini to remember our wonderful night!
{Inside}
Our Creep Cocktail Table {the skull on the right is used on my Sleepless Beauty}
Our Spooky Table Settings
Tricks & Treats
{Broomstick Treat Bags - I hope to show how to make these before the end of the weekend!}
{Back Cover}
Cute Halloween Poem {by Sandra Liatsos}
The End...or is it?
Quite small and fairly easy to put together.  The 'book' parts {round} are just made from some back covers of paper packs {I traced a vase to get the circle} A majority of the paper is My Mind's Eye - Spooky Sparkles!  All of the embellies, ribbons and such are items I just had around and the book is held together with binder rings!

Thanks for stopping in!

Nine Days of Halloween - Day Four

'Trick or Treat'
{Jasmine Labombard}
As most people know, I am not the card maker of the family...but My Mind's Eye - Mischievous {All of the paper, including the owl} was so adorable that I thought I would take a whack at it.  I just added a few ribbons from my stash and some rhinestones for the eyes.  The inside simply says 'Happy Halloween'.

Hope your days are well!

Mondays Are For Mom - Halloween Edition

Well, today I am going to try to play the part of Ma. {she is feeling a little under the weather and was unable to get a card finished...so you get me.}  As everyone knows, although I try, I cannot create a card quite like my Ma, so I decided to post an Altered Tin I made the other night.

'If the Broom Fits'
{Altered Candy Tin}
I love altering objects, it is one of my favourite things to do.  I have absolutely no idea where this tin came from, it just seemed to show up one day.
I found the very cute {and free} 'If the Broom Fits' sentiment at Crafts & Sutch and it is available in a few different colours.
The broom was crafted out of a couple of sticks from the backyard and some raffia
{and I am quite pleased with how it turned out}.
I didn't use a pattern for the Witch's Hat, I just kind of winged it using the Scary Sparkles Halloween paper from My Mind's Eye and a bow made from purple tulle.
 My plan is to fill it with Halloween Goodies and give it to my wonderful Grandmother for Halloween!

Great Days!

Cutting Up Paper

Well, I just couldn't do it... it's 2:30am and I just had to put the scissors down.  Do you ever get to the point where you feel as though you are just cutting up all of your good paper? - Well, if you do, than you understand where I am coming from.  If not, consider yourself lucky.  As most of you know, my plan was to post my completed Altered Window Sash, but that will not be happening today.
Instead, I had been planning on doing EIGHT days of Halloween, but I am
going to up it to NINE days of Halloween-starting right now.
'Sleepless Beauty'
{Halloween Countdown, Altered Box}
PHOTOS REMOVED FOR PUBLICATION
{Title Close-Up}
Ok, this is the product of a really good buy AND absolutely NO SLEEP
- hence the name, 'Sleepless Beauty'.  {For those that don't know, I don't sleep well, I am not a light sleeper, I just DON'T sleep, on a good night I might get about four hours.}  On a recent trip to Winners, I noticed the Halloween items were on sale {of course I was curious and had to LOOK}. And there, hanging on the wall was a complete pack of My Mind's Eye - Haunted Collection for $5...with a half off sticker on it, so I paid $2.50...imagine my excitement! When I got home, I was still flying from my fantastic purchase, so I decided to start to 'create' immediately.  I had bought two wooden boxes at a summer yard sale for $2 {for both} and decided it was time to put one to use... after that, I don't know, it just kind of came together.  The small trinkets, like the metal spiders, dangly embellishment and skeleton key were all items I had stashed away...just in case.  I don't know where the thought of adding the skull came into play, but I do remember taking a trip out to the garage around 3am and thinking 'you need a bow' {which is why she is a her}.  I formed the skeleton hands out of galvanized wire and then wrapped them in old {not used} gauze. {These are a lot of fun to make, my niece and I made a full-sized skeleton last year
...he is fantastic, his name is Bob.}
{Close-Up}
 The countdown starts at {unlucky} number 13 and works it's way down to October 31.  Each number has a magnet behind it and you simply stick a {little}, decorative magnet on the correct
number until you get to Halloween.

Happy Halloween
{in 9 days}
Hope you'll stop back in and see what haunting project we have tomorrow

Altered Window Sash...Page Four

'Beautiful Boy'
{Jasmine Labombard}
These are a couple of my favourite photos of Brade...although most photos of him come out great! {he is extremely photogenic, and as a bonus, will pose however you want him to!}  We are so blessed in our small town to have so many places to use as 'natural backdrops', amazing, {little}, architectural finds...and very friendly people who, if you ask, will let you come on their property.

{Product Used:}
Crate Paper - Emma's Shoppe
My Mind's Eye - Lost&Found Two {including tags}
Thickers - Jewelry Box Alphabet
Tim Holtz - Distress Inks
Mini Misters - {My Own}
Ribbon - stash

Only two layouts left until the completion of this {little} project, well, maybe more like one and a half.  Hopefully I will be posting them tomorrow...hopefully.

Have a Wonderful Saturday!

Altered Window Sash...Page Three

'All You Need is Love'
Jasmine Labombard
Well. again, this is not the page I was planning on having finished for today, but I do {really} like this page, especially how it came together so very quickly.  I seem to be getting my scrapbooking groove back, but that normally means I am getting less than my already very {little} amount of sleep...we can't have it all.  Anyway, this page is mainly made up of My Mind's Eye, Crate Paper and {my most loved item} Thickers, however, I will also add that I finally opened and used some {2 from a pack of 60 each} of those Martha Stewart rhinestones that I just HAD TO HAVE {2 packs} about, oh, three years ago.  The title, as I am sure most of you know, is a Beatles' Song {All You Need Is Love} and works perfectly when it comes to these two. {my niece and oldest nephew}  Although they have their 'I could seriously injure you' moments, for the most part when you see them together you know they love one another.

Hope your day is filled with wonderful moments!
Jazz

Also, I would like to wish my nephew. Braden, a most HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
You are the most kind and caring eight year old boy I know and I love you very much!

Altered Window Sash...Page Two

'Grandchildren'
{page two}
Well, if I was telling the truth, this would actually be called page three...page two is just taking it's time coming together. {alot of hand-stitching}  Not a whole lot went into this page, mainly My Mind's Eye papers, some rolled flowers and paper leaves, a little inking and voila, done. {hopefully page four, five and six are that easy to work with}
My apologies for the fuzzy pictures, it was just too hard to scan and I was in bad lighting.
Rolled Paper Flowers and some Prima Rhinestones

The two pages do compliment each other quite well...so far I am very happy with the outcome.
I am going to guess that I will NOT be done by the middle of the week {as said earlier}, I am now aiming for the END of the week...fingers-crossed.

Great Days,
Jasmine

Where Does the Time Go?

It feels like I haven't scrapbooked in FOREVER, or more accurately, it feels like I haven't COMPLETED a page in forever.  I start, get side-tracked, get frustrated, or just plain run out of time, so nothing gets finished.   I was just saying to Ma, that lately it seems that my life has had more 'scrapbooking moments' than scrapbooking time. {I guess that's not something to complain about, although a little down time would be nice.} I have to thank my Ma, without her 'Mondays Are for Moms' I wouldn't have posted on here in a while.
Anyhow, I have decided to buckle down and get a BIG project crossed off my 'to do' list.
It is a SIX LAYOUT project, which I will hopefully have ready to post the middle of next week, but am feeling horrible about not posting, so am going to put up what I have completed so far.
It starts with this old, beat up window sash, which I purchased for $6 at a Crop a couple of years ago.
{yes, it has been collecting dust for that long - sad, I know}
With a little elbow grease it turned into this...
{it looks better live}
So far I have only one layout finished that will go in it...
'Grandchild(ren)'
{Jasmine Labombard}
{it is to be a present for my dad and step-mom, hence the 'grandchildren' - my niece and nephews}
I really like this layout, it is the first time I have attempted hand-stitching...and now I am addicted.
{Thickers Alphabet- before}
{and after}
I have started two other layouts to go into this frame... so, I guess almost three down, three more to go.
Fingers-crossed, all will go according to plan.

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a fantastic weekend,
Jasmine
