A Card & A Winner!

First a Card...
'Happy Birthday Wishes'
{front panel}
This birthday card has been made for my Wednesday at Just Imagine Crafts/Kreaxions Punches...and also with my Gram in mind!  I have created this with a mix of My Mind's Eye {Miss Caroline}, Crate Paper {Emma's Shoppe} and Kreaxions 4 in 1 Punch 916 {plastic insert C} to cut the lovely corner detail.
  {middle panel}
{envelope detail}
I am buying her a Gift Card and created a small pocket to hold the envelope {fits a gift card perfectly - template HERE}.  The {top} border of the pocket has been created using the SAME PUNCH {916}, only without the insert {to see just exactly how this works CLICK HERE}! I have also used my WONDERFUL DYMO CAPTION MAKER for all of the sentiment!
{inside panel}
Before I announce the WINNER of my RAK I would like to THANK EVERYONE who joined in the fun for the Just Imagine Crafts BlogHop! Thank you for all of your lovely words!

Giving you the PUNCHline!

As some of you know, I have been on the Just Imagine Crafts/Kreaxion's Punches Design Team for a few months now...and I have really been enjoying working with their product.  I LOVE a product that delivers on it's promises...and Kreaxion's {4in1} Punches definitely deliver!
Each punch comes with it's own {plastic, insert able} positioning plates, you simply insert a specific plate into the punch to achieve the desired look...FOR EXAMPLE:
POSITIONING PLATE 'A' {border punch}
POSITIONING PLATE 'B' {corner punch}
POSITIONING PLATE 'C' {corner punch}
NO POSITIONING PLATE ADDED {border punch}
{for this one I punched both top and bottom of the paper - then I removed the 'negative space' from the top side to get a different look}
NEGATIVE SPACE {removed from top of picture above}
So, using that one punch {pictured above} I can create all of these different looks!
Want a chance to WIN a KREAXION'S PUNCH? Well, we're having a BLOG HOP!

A Finished Easel and an Announcement

'Felt With the Heart'
'The Best and Most Beautiful Things Cannot be Seen or Even Touched,
They Must be Felt with the Heart' - Helen Keller
This is the easel card I started a bit ago {shown here}, I decided it would make a lovely Mother's Day card for my lovely Mom.  I used some beautiful printed papers and, after inking and sanding, applied Modelling Compound with an artist's spatula.  The tiny butterflies have been cut from Core'dinations Cardstock {Tim Holtz - Nostalgic} with a Tim Holtz Movers&Shapers die.  The lovely sentiment is one of my Ma's stamps {stamped in Distress Ink} and the piece of burlap comes from my garden supplies.
Happy {1 day late} Mother's Day to All the Moms!
...now onto the announcement!
Mark Your Calendars,
is having a

Happy Monday!

Punched Out!

'Crazy doesn't just Run in this Family;
It {Practically} Gallops'
This is my layout for {my} Wednesday {that's today!} over at Just Imagine Crafts {Kreaxions Punches}!  For this layout I used Kreaxions Punch 307 ...in a bit of a non-traditional way.  As I mentioned in YESTERDAY'S POST, I took a mixed media class on the weekend...and now I have been trying my best to apply it to my scrapbooking.  So, for this layout I punched a piece of thick cardstock with the border part of my punch, to make a template, then I applied molding compound, over the template, randomly on the layout {it is a bit hard to see...it shows up best on here in the lower left corner}.  This has opened up a whole new world for my Scrappy Supplies!
As for the pictures, this is my NUTBAR of a Niece, SchmellieBellie {we have some of the oddest Nicknames}, anyway these pictures were taken during our At Home Science Fair...here she is demonstrating how you can stick a toothpick through a balloon...without it BURSTING! {I have no explanation for the wig OR the two pairs of glasses!}

Happy Scrapping!

Trying to Broaden My Horizons

I am one of those people who just doesn't take a class...sure, from time to time, one will come up that intrigues me, but I never actually sign up to go...until now!
This past weekend, Linda Heavens taught a wonderful Mixed Media Class at my LSS,
The Paper Pickle...and let's just say, if she holds another class, we will be there!  My Ma and I had a wonderful time learning some exciting techniques...my scrapbooking will never be the same!
My Finished Product
{Ma - pretending to be working away
...she was already done, we just forgot to take pictures during!}

{Linda}
Thank you, Linda, for a Wonderful Class!

Great Days,

A Quick&Speedy How-To

How-To : Easel Card
If I had to choose a favourite style of card, Easel would be my answer...my reason, well, it looks more labour intensive than what it actually is.

Supplies: 12"x12" sheet of Cardstock, Cutter, Scoring Tool

Step#1
Cut your 12"x12" sheet of Cardstock in half
You should now have 2 pieces measuring 6"x12"
Step#2
Take ONE of the 6"x12" pieces and cut it in half
{You should now have 3 pieces; 1 at 6"x12" and 2 at 6"x6" - you can set one of the 6"x6" pieces aside}
Step#3
Take the 6"x12" piece and score a fold line at 6"
Step#4
Score another fold line on the same piece of cardstock again at 3"
{in the middle of your first score line and the edge of the cardstock}
Step#5
Fold and crease well along the score lines
Now, the only thing left to do is create the face {1-6"x6" piece} of your card in whichever manner you please. When finished attach the face of your card to the easel {6"x12" scored piece} by adding adhesive from the raw edge to the folded edge of the 3" piece {right side of fold pictured above}.  Then decorate the bottom part of the easel {un-scored side of 6"x12"}...and there you have it! Hopefully I have explained the steps okay, if you have any questions, please feel free to ask - and I will do my best to answer!

My plan is to get this card finished over the weekend using my new
Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps!
Best of Luck & Happy Scrapping!

What Was I Thinking?

Due to some Bathroom Renovations I have been spending MUCH more time at my Parent's House, and trust me, TWO SCRAPPERS in one household just doesn't add up...so I decided that my Ma and I should have a {little}, friendly, Scrappy competition!

THE RULES:
{1}We would be given 4 pieces of paper to write down elements the {completed} card MUST HAVE
{2}From these {combined} 8 elements we would blindly pick 3 each {for a combined total of 6}
{3}We had 20, um, 30 minutes to complete the card {complete means including all the elements picked}
{Mom will tell you I PLEADED for another 10 minutes...but that is just NOT the case, I simply was being a gracious competitor and ASKED HER if she needed more time...she said 'YES!YES!'...just wanted to clear that up.}
{4} Dan, my step-dad, would pick the WINNING card

Should a card NOT be completed in the allotted time limit - DISQUALIFIED
Should a card NOT contain all 6 elements - DISQUALIFIED

THE ELEMENTS:
A Brad
An Embellishment
A Circle
A Die Cut
2 Patterned Papers
A Stamp

So we started, scrambled and scrapped {...and startled Sassie}! Thirty minutes FLIES by quite quickly! Ma had her card finished with about 6 minutes to spare...me, well, it came right down to the wire, trust me, it was a real nail bitter!  When I wiped the sweat from my brow and breathed a sigh of relief, my {'non-competitive' - yeah right} Ma came over to check out my card... and she quickly pointed out it sported NO DIE CUT!  In my mad dash to the finish line I had forgot to stick it on, UGH! So, as the rules state, I was DISQUALIFIED!  So, CONGRATS to my Ma, who made the WINNING CARD...I'll get you next time!

{My NOW FINISHED Card}
...I had to add that darn circle...that cost me the win...ugh! {haha}

Happy Scrapping!
