Is It Wednesday Already?

{tiny bubbles}
Oh my dear friends, I have been lacking in the blogging world...between being sick and the nice weather, well, let’s just say I am lacking a bit of creative motivation... Anyway, this layout has been coming together for some time, I was in the process of getting it ready, oh, about 2 weeks ago for my Design Team Wednesday at Just Imagine Crafts/Kreaxions Punches, but then I became ill, so it got put on the back burner.  I love My Mind’s Eye Kraft Paper, but find it can quickly make a layout dark, so I like to layer it with BRIGHT, springy papers!  I cut the large circle using {the oh-so fantastic}Kreaxions Circle Cutter{You REALLY have to get your hands on one of these!}, layered it with some adorable photos of my niece, and a wonderful title made from Thickers {here is how I altered them!}.  I measured out and hand cut the large ‘photo corners’ and then added a small detail by punching them with Kreaxions 3in1 Punch #306 {using plate ‘C’}.  I hope you will pop by the Just Imagine Crafts/Kreaxions Punches Blog to see the amazing projects by the DT...and maybe shop for some fantastic product!

A {Little} Topsy Turvy...

Last weekend we had a Birthday Celebration for my cousin, Sam! Sam turned 13 at the end of February, but due to her living a couple of hours away we were unable to celebrate together in any sort of way.  {Mainly I feel bad for Sam because we ALWAYS have a Birthday Party for her younger sister, Cait, due to her birthday always falling by Easter weekend...}
'Topsy Turvy Birthday Cake Card'
I LOVE using up my every growing scraps of paper...so this was a fun card to make. First I separately drew the three layers of the cake until they came together making a 'topsy turvy' shape that I decided I liked. I placed the three layers down {in the shape of the completed cake} on a sheet of chipboard and traced around them...then I cut it out. I now had the pattern for the card 'backer' and each individual layer.  For the 'backer' {not visible} I used MME's Kraft Paper, each layer is a piece of scrap paper.  I added some Tim Holtz/Sizzix scallops, some small dots from an embossing folder and a few other embellishments.  It was a quick and easy card to make...and Sam loved it!
{silk bow & a {real} melted-down birthday candle}
So, don't throw away those scraps! Use them...OR send them to me! {haha}
Great Days,
jazz
ps- Let me apologize for the lack of posting...I have been under the weather ever since the weekend. I haven't had the energy to turn my computer on, BUT things are getting better and I seem to be on the mend!

Over the Rainbow

We are having a St.Patrick's Day party for the kids...only it's tonight, not on St.Patrick's Day. I decided that I would give each of the kids a treat, so this is what I came up with to hold their goodies!
I used the Designer Calendar Cartridge {Cricut} to cut the hat with the Shamrock {attached}, which has been attached to a box {it sort of resembles a small fry box}...then I filled it with some small green {and gold} goodies!

Great Days,

{Wonder}ful You

'{Wonder}ful You'
This layout is of my {wonder}ful nephew, Braden, he is always so curious about EVERYTHING!  This is an exciting layout for me, it is my FIRST {layout} while being on the design team at Just Imagine Crafts!  For this layout I used their AMAZING Circle Cutter, okay, you cannot get any better than this! It is easy, compact and quick...great results everytime!  The paper is My Mind's Eye {Kraft & Miss Caroline}, some Thickers Alphas and a few bright embellishments!
{SideShot}
Thanks for stopping by and best wishes for a GREAT DAY!

Irish for {a few} Days!

I belong to a group of friends, a few of which come from Irish decent...and they LOVE to celebrate St. Patrick's Day - and I am talking from morning to well, the next morning.  I have been working on a few 'festive' {little} projects, one of which is for a friend I 'owe' a favour to.
A Tag
Irish Verse: {found on-line}
'May your blessings outnumber the Shamrocks that grow,
And may trouble avoid you wherever you go'
{detail shot}
This {little} tag will be attached to a batch of my homemade Peanut Butter&Bacon Donuts {um, yeah...yum! I strongly suggest trying these}. The tag is a normal Manila Tag from Staples, I covered it in Kraft Paper and added the St. Patty's Day hat cut from the Cricut.  The Clover is from my stash, I stamped it with Distressed Dots {Peeled Paint Distress Ink} and added a silk bow and {top} loop!
Peanut Butter&Bacon Donuts
{not the greatest of pictures...but, we sell these at my niece&nephew's HUGE Charity Lemonade Stand, the are the NUMBER ONE requested item...and we sell out constantly!}
I hope your days are Fantastic!

SIDENOTE: A few people have been commenting about my bows...here's the scoop! I go to my local fabric store {Fabricland} and ask them to cut the smallest amount possible...I think it comes out to 1/10th of a meter, I can probably get about 20 {small - same as above} bows from this! I LOVE using silk because of the rigidness of the material! ...It does turn out to be cheaper than buying strips of ribbon from my LSS, they sell 1 strip {I would say 1 meter or less} for $1!

LeftOvers

Not too long ago I mentioned that I was going to 'over haul' my {ever growing} Recipe Collection.  So, I have finally had 'some down time' {also known as the flu} to do something, well, simple.  I really wanted to use up my paper scraps {another growing collection}, as well as, create a book where the recipes DID NOT have to be removed from the book in order to see them {eventually I would like to have a picture of all of the prepared food mounted with the matching recipe...one day}.
New Recipe Collection

Now, although this collection is not as nearly detailed as the previous, I think it will serve it's purpose better this way.  My sister had come across these transparent pages, on sale, at Winners...so she snatched them up for me. I happened across this 12x12 album a while ago {I think it was at Winners, as well}, I liked the look, bought it, and have NEVER scrapped a 12x12 page since. All of the recipes have been typed out {I LOVE typing}, printed on 3x5 recipe cards and then mounted on random 'leftover' scraps {I have mounted a recipe on each side of the paper to cut down on overall bulk}.
{another look}
I like that I can just open the book up, read the recipe, and wipe off the pages...should there be any spattering...and there will be.
{Album}
I need to do something to the cover...hmm.
Anyway, nothing too exciting, but definitely useful for a girl who LOVES to cook!

{Product Used:}
Album - K&Company
Papers - Any and ALL LeftOvers!

The Golden Years

'Happy 50th Anniversary'

A few days ago I received a phone call from Mr.E {my friend's father}, asking if I would make a card for his brother's 50th Anniversary.  Of course, I said 'yes'...um, I'll take any excuse to make a trip to visit Kim at The Paper Pickle!
{detail shot}
A {little} ink, a {little} die cutting...and done! I am pretty happy with the outcome and I think Mr.E will be also!
{Sentiment}
'It takes a Special Couple to reach this Special Day,
So Warm Congratulations are being sent your way'

{Product Used:}
Gold Papers - Unknown
Hearts - Tim Holtz Movers&Shakers Die
Distress Ink - Walnut Stain
French Script - Stampin' Up {a NICE yard sale find!}
Sentiment {online} - printed on my {wonderful} LEXMARK Printer
{making sure that you let the ink dry completely after printing...it takes a little longer on these glossy papers}
Clock Hands - Etsy
Silk - my stash {leftover from Christmas}

I would say the total price for this card would run about $4 {including the clear envelope}.

Have a Wonderful Day!
