Oh Me, Oh My...

Well, let me say first...I am so very confused.
Obviously, I thought yesterday was Monday, hence the 'Mondays Are For Mom' being posted on Sunday.
I just realized this.

Anyway, I am excited to post today.
A while back I told everyone how I had won a free photo session for my niece, nephews and Sassie.
Well, the photos are here and are they ever lovely.
I thought I would give you a peek.

Mondays Are For Mom

'Here Comes Summer'
Nancy Parker
 At least I hope summer is here & here to stay - at least for a few months in Southwestern Ontario. I made this card for the weekly challenge over at Kaboodle Doodles. The theme is Food and/or Drink. The sponsor this week is Meljen's Designs. Their designs are so cute & their style is so unique, I love them!  Though it's not mandatory to use a sponsor's image for this challenge, I chose to use 2 of their "Freebie" digital images & coloured them with my beloved Copic Markers.
Everything else used in this card is from my sweet & over-flowing stash box.
I guess that's it for now.
Hope everyone has a terrific week,
'Ma'  (a.k.a. Nancy)

Please Forgive Me

I just wanted to apologize for any 'late' mail.
Should I have any outstanding parcels (and I do), please don't think that
I have forgotten about you.
They are all in a basket, addressed and stamped,
 just waiting for the {Canadian} Postal Strike to be over.
Once that happens they will quickly be on their way.

Thanks for understanding,
Jasmine

PS- Also, my blogger has been 'acting up'.  I am unable to leave comments, it just
keeps me going in circles...otherwise I would have messaged everyone individually regarding this matter.

Thirsty?

Quench it with a glass of Fresh Lemonade!

It's time for my niece and nephew's lemonade stand...Every summer they
hold two {very successful} lemonade stands, one for THEIR personal gain
and the other for a Charity of THEIR choice.

We try to treat it like a business- they pay for all
of the supplies, we have 'business meetings' regarding
what to serve, how to price, what hours to run it, when to have it
...they are involved {and have a say} in everything.
Although it seems like ALOT of work...it ends up being worth it.  They
will be kept busy the WHOLE DAY!
{front}
Should you live in the neighbourhood, this is the 'flyer'
you would find hanging on your doorknob, inviting you to try
some Fresh Lemonade & Homemade Donuts.
{back}
On the back it gives a few menu selections, of course, lemonade
...but limeade and cherry flavour, as well.
Personally, I am looking forward to making the donuts...  No 'plain jane' flavours to be found, the selection includes; Black Forest (stuffed w/cherries, topped w/whipped cream&shaved chocolate), S'more (stuffed w/marshmallow, topped w/chocolate&a sprinkling of graham crumbs),
Peanut Butter & Maple Bacon, Coconut Cream and many more.

They also wanted some 'coupons' to attach to the flyer's
...hopefully to hand out to classmates.

The past year's stands have always been a success...and hopefully, this
year will be no different.  Wish us luck!

 Great Days,
Jasmine.

Good Things Come to Those Who Wait

'A Hard Day's Night'
{sung by The Beatles}
I really don't have too much to say about this layout.  The picture is hands down
my favourite.  I took it in 2006 and five years later I {finally} scrapped it.
I have sketched out layouts for it before, but was never satisfied with the outcome.
{and I am definitely 'one of those scrappers' who will rip
 apart a 'finished' layout if not happy- definitely}
Personally, I am happy with this layout.  The paper and embellishments
are simple enough as to not take away from the picture...which really speaks for itself.

Great Days,
Jasmine

If A Picture Can Be Worth A Thousand Words

How the heck do you fit those 1000 words on a layout?
...especially if you have more than one picture and add embellishments.
Sometimes I give up and will just write the who, what, where, when, and why on the
back, but I find it so much more fun to 'hide' the journaling.

At times, I challenge myself to hide it so well that others do not know it is there.
 This layout was for a Hidden Journaling Challenge on Scrapbook Challenges.

'Subject:Me'

Other times I want the journaling to be very interactive.
The words in the following layout, of my nephews, was written as a story for them.
Braden is at the age where he is excited about reading...especially if Zachie will
sit still long enough to hear a story.

'Grasshopper Hunting'

I find that layouts are just more complete with journaling...especially when the day
comes that I am no longer able to tell the story that goes with the picture.

Happy Scraping!

Jasmine

PS- I apologize for posting layouts that I have had done for sometime...you may even
recognize them from some 'galleries'.  My excuse...when you get nice weather
around here, you take advantage of it. I keep telling myself to bring my scrapbooking
 outside, but... I promise I will get some new layouts/projects up soon.
Thanks for sticking around. JL

Mondays Are For Mom

Corner Book Mark
-Nancy Parker-

I came across this neat Tutorial on Splitcoast Stampers for "Corner Book Markers". Cute, versatile, little gift for pretty much anyone.  A great way to use up scrap paper. And oh so quick and easy to do. I made one up and thought you might like to see it. It scanned a bit bright because my colours are really more of a melon & turquoise. My stamp is  Magnolia's "Sweeping Tilda". I had previously coloured her with pencil crayons, but I went over her with my Copics. The only thing to be aware of is not to make it too thick with embellishments or it could ruin the pages in your book.
Thanks for looking

It Was {So Very} Good While It Lasted

Never will you meet a person more attached to her {not} shoes.
Sort of like slippers, Sanuks are the most comfortable footwear
that will ever grace your feet. The closest thing to bare feet, I dare say.
{If you have tried them, you know what I am talking about.
If you haven't, you really should}

When I FINALLY found a store in Canada that sold them {worth the two hour drive},
well let's just say, the skies parted and angels sang.
{Sanuks in The Stanley Cup & Sanuks on Vacay}
Since that glorious day, not a moment has gone by where they have not been with me
{I am not kidding, I practically sleep in them},...until now.
{sniffle}

Here is what has happened...
Sassie, my wonderful Westie, had also taken a liking to my {not} shoes.
{see picture}
She would carry one around with her and use it as a pillow...never chewing or tearing.
And I'll admit, I did NOT do anything to stop it because it was NEVER destructive, until...
I came home and found this. Poor, poor Sanuk,...I almost cried and Sassie almost died.
{not really, the dying part that is...the crying part, well}

Sanuk {My Favourite Things}
I was so glad that I had scrapped my favourite pairs,
{yes, all is not lost, I have a couple more pairs}
so I can remember the time we spent together, forever.

Thanks for stopping by...your support is greatly appreciated through this hard time.
{Stop by the Sanuk Website...your feet will thank you!}
Great Days.

Mondays Are For Mom

"Happy Day" - Nancy Parker
So from now on for Mondays Are For Moms, I am going to let Ma do the writing about her cards...she doesn't know it yet, but I am sure she will figure it out as she is reading this. (Thanks Ma.)
Here is what she emailed me...

I entered this card in this week's challenge over at Mo's digital pencil. ( I know it's greedy to want to win again this week, but I LOVE her images so much that I can't get enough of them! ).
It's Mo's image "JoJo". Coloured with my Copics. Paper is from the Lime Twist collection by My Mind's Eye. Punch is from Martha Stewart. Added a few brads, flowers, buttons & glitter

Hope you had a great day,
Ma & Jasmine

PS- Congrats Ma on your BIG WIN last week!! j.

'Grandmothers Are Just Antique Little Girls'

It is just too hot to scrapbook...so I am posting a layout I did a little while ago.
I picked this one of my Gram because it reminds me of spring,
a season we no longer have in SouthWestern, Ontario.
{I don't function well in severe, sticky heat.}
Hopefully soon the heat will break and I will get back to scrapping again.

Thanks for looking,
Jasmine
