Green Earth

Happy Earth Day, all! Hope you spend today REDUCING, REUSING and RECYCLING! Today I am posting an EARTH TONE layout for DT Reveal Day at  JUST IMAGINE CRAFTS

AN APPLE A DAY {is REALLY NOT ENOUGH for THIS Growing Boy}
I used the Kreaxion's Circle Cutter to QUICKLY cut the rings that frame the pictures of my adorable {youngest} Nephew, Zood.  We had gone to Thompson's Orchards on a class trip {Sept.2012} - where we picked apples and learned all about the growth, harvesting and varieties of Apples! Zood LOVED it... I think mainly because the got to pick and EAT as many apples as he wanted... and trust me, the kid can eat - A LOT! {PLUS he got to take a BIG BAG of apples home with him!}
I stuck with different shades of GREENS AND BROWNS... and added that POP! of gorgeous APPLE RED {that counts as an Earth tone, right?}

STOP BY the JUST IMAGINE CRAFT BLOG to check out the OTHER DT Reveals!

Extreme Makeover - SCRAPBOOK Edition!

You know how it goes, you look through your finished Scrapbook Pages - and think - who made these, ugh. Well, when I get that feeling, I give the page a 'facelift'... sometimes a complete overhaul. Quite sometime ago, I had scrapped this 12x12 layout of my oldest, adorable nephew - BUCK-O.
{original layout}
 It was not a matter of liking or disliking this layout... it came down to size, the books that I have for my niece and two crazy nephews are 8.5x8.5 and 8x8 - I wanted this layout in his, but it wouldn't fit, so I decided on a re-do.
THIS IS THE FACE THAT MAKES MY WORLD BRIGHT
 I wanted to keep the colour scheme, title and other bits and pieces the same {or similar}...So, as you can see, I made the sun a little 'brighter' and the title a little 'tighter'.  I kept the vintage, floral button, the metal ring and the same letters for the word WORLD.  I have condensed and hidden the journaling on that small tag and slightly cropped the picture.

So, do you every give your layouts a nip and tuck??

Rain, Rain Go Away...

Mind you, if it stopped raining, I wouldn't be able to do nearly as much scrapping as I have been... so, I guess all of the rain has been a blessing in disguise!

Mother's Day is on its way, and goodness knows, if a certain Ma doesn't get a homemade card...she will NOT be impressed. So, I decided to take advantage of this rainy day and make her card.

YOU ARE LOVED...
{close up of 'see through' {inner punched} circle}
For this card I used my Kreaxion's Circle Cutter, paired with the stencil and positioning parts {to punch the inner circle} and Kreaxions 4in1 Punch {#305}.  It is quite easy to punch the inner circle...and the end result is fantastic. I didn't layer any paper behind, so you can see right through to top of the Easel Card.
I used the SAME PUNCH {#305} to create the border along the lower portion of the card, as well as, punch the bottom corners on the top {easel} portion.  There are SO MANY POSSIBILITIES with this ONE KREAXION'S PUNCH!
For a finishing touch I added some vintage flowers {brooches and earrings}, along with a twine bow and some sparkling BLING!
I'm sure my Ma will just love it!

Thanks for stopping by - and have a GREAT WEDNESDAY!!

After Spring Comes Summer!

I am so excited for summer to come... I am missing the heat {which is very unlike me...} Anyway, my missing summer has been reflecting in my most recent layouts - which always seem to be about moments in the warmer season... soon it will be here!

I made this layout using the KREAXION'S CIRCLE CUTTER - using that giant green circle to help the cardboard stencil numbers POP! off the page.
Pictured are my Grandfather, Dad and Aunt - all hanging out at a cottage in Picton {1962}.  A quick, fun layout - complete with paint spatters, vintage film strip and fun captions {Dymo Caption Maker}!

Thanks for popping by and be sure to check out the NEW BLOG, So Very, Very {P}interesting
where you can see fun PINNED projects actually being executed!
Stuff like this
 Plus MANY MORE to come!!!

Getting My Hands {a little} Dirty!

I LOVE playing around in the dirt outside, but although the sun is shining it is still a little chilly outside.  So, while I {not-so patiently} wait for the weather to warm up, I have been getting my hands dirty in my Scrappy Room!
GARDEN PARTY
So, I have been playing around with some paints and NEW stencils... and my KREAXION'S CIRCLE CUTTER! It's a bit messy, but I LOVE it!
{Paint Spatters and Hexagon Stencil - plus a lovely, vintage brooch!}
